What Not to Say to the Insurance Company After Your Car Accident?

After a car accident, you have to deal with the insurance company to recover your compensation. It is considered one of the biggest problems because insurance companies try to reduce compensation or deny it completely, and therefore, they ask such questions and manipulate the situation. So, you must be very careful when dealing with insurance companies. It would be better to consult an attorney who has experience dealing with insurance companies.

You can visit the lawyer’s official website and press the click here button to understand how the attorney can deal with the insurance company.

What Not to Say to the Insurance Company After Your Car Accident?

  • Do not admit fault: It is pronounced that you should not accept fault to any degree. Even if you think that you are responsible for the accident or you may have a situation where you can be partially blamed, you must not accept your fault. It is because if you take your fault even partially, you will limit your chance of compensation. Therefore, you must be careful while communicating with the insurance company.
  • Do not speculate about what happened: The insurance adjuster will ask you questions regarding the accident. While answering them, you must provide details about the date, time, and location. It would help if you did not answer anything about which you are not sure. You can say that you cannot recall certain things, but speculating on things will jeopardize your chances of getting compensation.
  • Do not discuss more about your injuries or prognosis: The injuries that you have suffered now may worsen in future, and therefore, you must not discuss much about it with the insurance adjuster. If the injury, pain and suffering increase further and you have said to the adjuster that it was mild before, then it can be used against you, and they can deny the claims. Sometimes, the injury is not visible at the initial stages, and it occurs later. So, in such situations, adjusters can claim that the injury is due to some other thing.
  • Do not agree to give recorded statements: You must not be ready to give recorded statements; you can politely decline to agree to give recorded statements. If they are still pursuing it, then you must say that you need to discuss the situation with your lawyer before giving a recorded statement.
